Amir Gal-Or won the Friendship Award of the Chinese Government and was met by Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council

In recognition of these foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to China's modernization and reform and opening up, China established the Chinese government friendship award in 1991. This is also the highest honor awarded by the Chinese government to foreign experts working in China. This year, a total of 50 foreign experts from 21 countries won the honor, with Israeli Infinity Group Chairman Amir Gal-Or among them. As of 2017, a total of 1,549 foreign experts from 70 countries and regions have won this honor.

The 2017 Chinese government friendship award ceremony was ceremoniously held in the great hall of the people on September 29. Ma Kai, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, presented the award to the foreign experts and spoke at the ceremony. On the afternoon of September 30, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council met with foreign experts and their relatives in the Great Hall of the People who won the 2017 Chinese Government Friendship Award.

Since the founding of New China 68 years ago, especially since the reform and opening up, more and more foreign experts have devoted themselves to China's modernization drive, which has played an important role in promoting China's economic and social development and promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries. Today, more than 600,000 foreign experts working in China each year have become an important force in China's modernization drive. They have made positive contributions to China's transformation and development and have deep friendship with the Chinese people.

In the past five years, 3.346 million foreign experts have come to work in China. Li Keqiang congratulated the winning foreign experts and fully affirmed their efforts to promote the development of China, especially in the central and western regions, and to promote friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries. Li Keqiang pointed out that China, as the largest developing country in the world, is in a critical period of transformation between Economic Transition and the old and the new. The greatest potential and advantage lies in human resources. We should not only make good use of the intellectual resources and market space of more than 1.3 billion Chinese, but also open the door wider for talents to use their wisdom and introduce more facilitation measures for foreign talents to work, visa and stay in China. To better protect intellectual property rights and make intellectual achievements realize their own values; Through reforms such as streamlining administration and delegating power, combining management and administration, and optimizing services, the ecological environment for entrepreneurship and innovation has been improved, making China one of the countries with the most active and attractive innovation. The award-winning foreign experts highlighted to Li Keqiang their achievements in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, revitalizing the real economy and promoting two-way investment.
